Winsor Pilates - Is It The Answer For Me?

Winsor Pilates has become very popular in today’s fickle market that is  always looking for the best in weight loss and fat burning workout programs.  It has received good reviews both from users and professional analysts.  But what is it?  Could this be the answer that I have been looking for?

Many analysts say that Winsor Pilates is best for weight loss, fat burning workout and mental conditioning.  It also offers better health through exercise.  It comes on a DVD, and claims when used 3 days a week can produce results in as little as four or five weeks.  This may seem a somewhat ambitious claim but according to most regular users, Winsor Pilates  works!                                                                                                   

Winsor Pilates is a low intensity, fat burning workout exercise  that burns a lot of calories.  It can be done by almost anyone even in the frailest of health (however, one should always check with a doctor before getting started on any exercise program - just in case!)  without the stricter requirements of other exercise methods.

Joseph Pilates, who devised the Pilates method, focused on breathing and stretching with slow paced movements. Winsor Pilates is a derivative  designed by Mari Winsor.  It aims to train the “core” or the muscles in the abdomen, back and buttocks.  This method claims that by strengthening one's core, one can get physical fitness ,as well as, mental clarity allowing the mind to work more efficiently with the body.

Mari Winsor, the inventor of Winsor Pilates is 54 years old who still has the physique of a 20 year old.  - her body is lean and flexible, something that is not akin to a lot of people her age.  She credits the Winsor Pilates System for this achievement. 

 Fans of the Winsor method endorses its  use for rehabilitation.  Even though this might be true, it is hard for a person with broken bones to work out only in front of a DVD.  If someone wants to use Winsor as part of a rehabilitation program it should be under the supervision of a certified Pilates instructor.                                                   

An instructor assures that one executes the moves correctly and that one is not causing damaging or hurt.  Instructors are also a good source of answers for most of the questions one will have about Pilates. I cannot stress this enough your doctor's input is very essential  before using Pilates for rehabilitation.

There is one important observation to note.  The Pilates method was not modified  to accommodate pregnant women.  During the third trimester  Pilates done lying down should be avoided since this could damage the blood flow to the baby.  If you have to use during  pregnancy be very cautious!               

Apart from pregnant women and extremely ill people, Winsor Pilates is for everyone.  It provides an exercise regime that is gentle on the joints, muscles and bones.  After the increased focus on abdominal muscles and all-in-one gyms Winsor is a definitely good addition to harder systems that are abandoned because they are too difficult or take too long to make improvements.

Continue To “Say No!” To Diets That Burn Fat- Part 2


In part one of this article, I discussed how avoiding a fad diet is one of the best things you can do for your long term health and fitness success, especially if you want to burn fat.  In this part, you will see how you can start to transition from your current lifestyle to one that translates into creating a lean, strong body and long lasting health.

A healthy balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in your diet is essential to keep your metabolism firing on all cylinders and constantly burning fat.  Complex Carbs (whole grains, breads, cereals, etc.) are vital to maintaining your energy level throughout the day and do a host of other things within your body including keeping you feeling full.  Fruits because of their high fiber content and slow absorption into the blood stream keep our insulin level in check.  This is important for less fat storage and an increased chance of burning stored fat.

Simple carbs or sugars (candy, soda pop, white processed baked goods, etc) are to be avoided like the plague and kept to a minimum.  These foods provide little nutritional value.  In fact, insulin which regulates the blood sugar level will take the excess sugar and store it as fat.  The best way to avoid this is by eating sensible amounts of complex carbohydrates instead.

Proteins (lean meats, fish, poultry, soy, beans and legumes, etc.) are the building blocks of the body.  They are essential for building lean muscles important to maintaining the cellular structures and vital if you want to burn fat fast .                                  
When choosing your protein source include a balance of animal and plant based protein. Plant based proteins contain more fiber essential in your ability to burn fat.  Include properly performed resistance exercises from the Fat Burning Furnace to burn fat and to foster lean muscle growth.

Eating to have a lean, strong, and healthy body isn’t so difficult.  You do not have to eliminate essential foods like complex carbohydrates from your diet. Focus on foods your body craves naturally instead. The rest of the details will be easy to implement into your lifestyle.  Soon you will start to burn fat faster and be well on the road to a have that healthier, sexier and slimmer bikini body.

Triple Your Fat Burning Workout Results
